Wedding Cake Card Box

This is a photo of a cake themed card box I made for my sister's upcoming wedding. I saved a ton of dough making it myself rather than renting one and it suits their wedding colours perfectly too!

I used three different sized boxes I purchased from Solutions and white bridal satin for the outside. It was a fun and easy project. ;)

Starbucks

The other day I received a free coupon for an iced coffee in the mail from Starbucks. Now I don't drink coffee, but I do enjoy a nice Tim Horton's Iced Capp once in a while as a treat.

My dog Bailey and I walked to our local Starbucks this morning to try one out. Bleh! I'm not used to the bitter coffee there. It was a nice cold drink though!

I suggest you try one yourself. ;)

Dirty Dancing!

Every year my friend Sylvia and I surprise each other on our birthdays with a fun filled day trip. This year Sylvia took me to Toronto for some surprise fun!

We got lost on the way there...

We treated ourselves to some pedicures at a downtown salon.

Sylvia surprised me by taking me to the Dirty Dancing production in Toronto! Awesome!
We watched at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. It was built in 1907 and has had rumours of three different ghosts!

Stopped by the Chum City building where Much Music, CityLine, and Breakfast Television are taped. We peaked in to see Marilyn Denis at work on TV. ;)

At the end of the day we enjoyed dinner at Milestones Restaurant. Thank you Sylvia!

Ghosts & Gardens

My parents are on a road trip to Ottawa for a few days. It's about 4 hours away from where we live. So while they're away, I'm tending to their gardens.

My son Evan came along to help with the watering. Here are some pictures I took before the gardens were watered.

After watering the gardens we took a nap in my parents guest room. It was a nice break from the summer heat. My son and I woke up hearing some odd noises. He said he heard noises much like the sound that's made when a spoon is tapped on the side of a glass. I don't know. I kept hearing someone talking. It woke me up. My son swears it wasn't him.

My sister used to sleep in that room. She always said it was haunted...

My son Evan in the garden. He had a great time with the hose! ;)

Addicted to Etsy

As an Etsy seller I log in to Etsy.com several times a day. I am a self proclaimed Etsy addict! Well guess what? I'm not the only one!

A fellow Etsy seller, http://www.thescrabblegal.etsy.com posted this cartoon her hubby made. It's hilariously true!

♪ These are a few of my favourite things... ♪

I love the Sound of Music! There, I've said it. ;) Remember when Maria (Julie Andrews) made clothes for the children out of drapes? Well, I've made a dress out of a tablecloth. I truly believe my inspiration came from her.

I'd love to share some of my favourite Etsy items with you. There are so many amazing and talented Etsy sellers. Click on the pictures below to check out these shops.

Some new Etsy finds!

I think this blog may become all about what I buy from other sellers on Etsy!

I was really excited when I came across mayideas's shop on etsy the other day.

Now there's a LOT of jewellery available on Etsy.com but the handmade pieces in mayideas's shop really stood out to me. I'm anxiously waiting for this classic looking locket with sweet little red flowers to reach me in the mail. ;)

I also came across http://www.tinyislandbooks.etsy.com where the seller writes, illustrates, prints, and binds her own children's books. They're just adorable! I ordered four for our friend's son Russell. He'll be two in the Fall and he loves books!

I think it's time to start thinking about Holiday gifts too...
